Exploring McPhillips beach with Lei and Diego was all too fun. This hidden gem on the Oregon coast can be a little tricky. You have to plan the tides just right along with the weather. I would say this session and gold hour was all pure luck.

All day prior to our session I watched the tide schedule and prayed for a miracle. When I got to the beach parking I waited for Lei and Diego and we drove my car together down to the beach. Yes, you can drive on this beach during low tide up to a certain point. That’s how a lot of people miss this hidden rock formation. You have to drive about half a mile up the beach to your left of the beach access and walk a couple of feet along the rocks to see it.

During low tide you can climb up the rocks and sometimes make it to the other side where the hidden beach is. It can be dangerous so beware and plan accordingly.
