Nestled on the Wizard Academy campus just outside Austin, this open-air stone chapel overlooks the rolling Texas Hill Country. Inspired by Spanish Colonial mission architecture, the venue features beautiful stone archways, a bell tower, and panoramic views that stretch for miles. It’s peaceful, timeless, and feels completely removed from the busyness of everyday life.

One of the things that makes Chapel Dulcinea so unique is its mission to make intimate weddings more accessible. The chapel became the world’s first free wedding chapel in 2005. Today, weekday reservations remain available with a refundable reservation deposit, while weekend and certain evening reservations have a fee that helps support the venue and allows weekday ceremonies to continue.

It’s designed specifically for intimate ceremonies and small guest counts, making it a wonderful choice for couples who want to focus on their marriage instead of planning a large production.

As the ceremony began, the sun dipped lower across the Texas Hill Country, casting a warm glow across the chapel’s stone walls. How comfortable they were together. How completely present they were.

Nothing felt rushed.

After the ceremony, we explored the chapel grounds together, letting the evening unfold naturally. We wandered through the pathways, rang the iconic chapel bell, admired the panoramic views, and soaked in every last bit of golden light before the sun disappeared behind the hills. Those quiet moments after the ceremony often become my favorite photographs because that’s when everything finally sinks in.
